During Year 6 English lessons the students have been again exercising their creative muscles; on this occasion through writing and performing poetry. Writing poetry is a challenging exercise for even experienced and skilled writers and although the students initially struggled with this very difficult discipline they never gave up and slowly but surely got to grips with this demanding assignment.

Working individually, they created fantastic and entertaining poems, that they then performed for their fellow students. The work produced by the students displayed impressive imagery and utilized rhythmical and metaphorical language. It is extremely satisfying to watch my student’s creativity and confidence in their use of English improving week by week. They should all be very proud of themselves. Written by Mr. Robert Daly
