This month in Mr. Stephen’s year 11 Reading and Writing class, the students are reading “Foundation” by Isaac Asimov–a science fiction retelling of the fall of the Roman Empire. In the classroom, students integrate technology by referring to the audiobook while reading along, using both paperback copies and digital copies in the form of pdfs on their personal devices.
It’s only fitting, considering the material covers the decline and fall of an ancient empire through a fictional tale set thousands of years in the future. In 2022, the students are very adept at using electronics in their class, and at the same time, centuries-old lessons are still worth learning.
