This week the students learned how to write and partition 3-digit numbers. They wrote the numbers in digits (457) as well as in English (three hundred and fifty-seven) and in elongated form (300 + 50 + 7).



They used MAB blocks to show they understood how many hundreds, tens, and ones a number had. When there was not enough hundreds some children improvised by making another hundred from 10 tens. It was great to see them work so well together for this task.
