Over the last week, the Year 8s discovered that exponential notation aka scientific notation is used to easily compare large and/or small numbers.
In this project, we compared different celebrities and their net worth. It was clear to see that using exponential notation, we could easily distinguish between the highest and the lowest net worth. Students are compiling the data, so that they can create a video presentation.
