Week 1 of Summer school in Year 1 has started with the children going on a school tour and starting some academic studies as well.
In the morning they will review and be introduced to Year 1 concepts in English, phonics and Maths. In Science we will be doing some hands on thinking skills fun with jenga, connect 4, jigsaws, magnetic shapes, force with playdoh and lego design. We will also have Friday cross-curricular learning with art and science about living things like plants and their parts.
It is pleasing to see the children enjoying hands on learning activities that make ideas memorable.
