Year 8 Students Make Dragon Eggs

Thursday, February 10, 2022

On Tuesday February 8, 2022, Year 8 participated in laboratory setup in our Biology Lab. This was to help the students prepare for their final exams. The first thing was to make fossils. Their objective was to produce a fossil of their choice from the materials brought from home.

Miss Mary, their Science teacher gave instructions and the students successfully but a bit on the messy side made their fossils. The very fun part was trying to make a dragon’s egg, which was very difficult and eventually done.

The other part of the lab was examining different types of soil through a microscope. Skill in using a microscope will be developed in the next few years.

Labs can be fun and educational. Students learn cooperation and coordination. To succeed, one must
follow instructions and even fail sometimes. Learn by doing! Hopefully this lab will not be forgotten…..
