This test period students in Year 1 have started to learn about Addition within 100 in their Maths lessons. Our usual in person lessons include many hands-on activities and manipulatives so while learning online teachers have had to get creative with technology to provide students with some visual, fun and interactive ways to practice their new skills.
For this topic students have been exploring place value and using this knowledge to start converting horizontal addition questions into vertical or column addition questions. Using PowerPoints, YouTube videos and various online games students have been able to complete many of the same activities that they would have if they were learning in person.
We know Year 1 had fun completing these activities and we cannot wait to keep exploring new ways to help build on our Maths skills.
