In their Introduction to Leadership course with Mr Marcin, Year 10 Business Administration students have been learning about management and leadership. The students have learned about the differences between the two and the functions and roles of managers and leaders in an organization.
At Assumption College English Program, we want our students to be able to apply what they learn in class into real-life situations. Therefore, in the Introduction to Leadership course, students analyze, discuss, and solve various real-life problems.
Recently, the students were asked to apply their theoretical knowledge of leadership and management to discuss the behavior and actions of a manager whose bakery was destroyed by a fire. Students were tasked to prepare presentations and identify management function and leadership styles of the manager. Furthermore, students collaboratively discussed and suggested alternative approaches the manager could have taken to deal with the disaster.
Students did a wonderful job with their presentations. The work they have done not only showed their full understanding of the management and leadership concepts but also showcased their critical and out-of-the-box thinking skills.
Well done to all Year 10 students!
