Year 5 Mathematics – Volume of Cubes and Cuboids

Friday, November 6, 2020

The Year 5 Mathematics students have learned more about the volume of cubes and cuboids over the past few weeks. The chapter started with finding the volume of solids by using cubic units. Students also had to draw different cubes and cuboids on isometric grids, which was the best part. Things got a little more exciting and students had to study different solids and then draw its top views, front views and side views.

After all the drawing, students had to use formulas to find the volume of solids in cubic centimetres. They also learned how to work out the volume of liquids in millilitres and litres.

It was another busy test period and the exams are around the corner. I would like to wish all the students the best of luck for the upcoming exams and have a wonderful, well-deserved break.
Be safe.
