Year 4 Students Visit Ruang Kong Ong Pottery Centre
Friday, August 8, 2019
On Wednesday the 7th of August, Year Four students from ACEP visited the Ruang Kong Ong Pottery Centre located in Ratchaburi Province. Once students and teachers arrived at the centre, they were taken on a guided tour of the pottery museum, where they learned about the history of Dragon Earth pottery, as well as the process of making the pots. Students showed great interest in the stories of how Ratchaburi Province became a hub for pottery in Thailand.
Following the guided tour, each student and teacher was able to paint and decorate a small pot using coloured paint. This was arguably the most enjoyable part of the tour for most students, as they shared ideas with friends and created designs using an array of colours. After this activity, it was time for students to sit down to eat lunch with their classmates and buy souvenirs and gifts for friends and family at the gift shop.
The students of ACEP had a fantastic time learning and painting in the beautiful Ruang Kong One Pottery Centre. It was pleasing to see the students embrace the cultural lessons being taught and enjoy the artistic activities on offer.
