Year 4 Science Studies Body Systems
Wednesday, November 15, 2017
This term in Year 4 Science we have begun a unit on body systems, and will investigate both the Skeletal System and the Muscular System. Students will learn what these body systems do for our body and start to realize that other animals have some of these same body systems for the same reasons as humans do.
In our Primary Science lab, we prepared a real fish skeleton specimen for the students to examine. After they learned to recognize the different parts of the skeletal system, they were able to identify the different parts in the fish’s skeleton. It was very fun and quite smelly lab activity.
Within the Upper Primary Science department, we continue our efforts to create a more hands-on environment for the Science class to build skills and create knowledge and curiosity for the future years. Keep checking in to see what we come up with next!
