Year 11 Students Study Invertabrates and Go on Night Safari at Khao Yai National Park!
Thursday, January 9, 2020
The Assumption College English Program Biology field trip saw the Year 11 students head to Khao Yai National Park. Once they arrived and settled into their accommodation, the students and ACEP staff carried out an invertebrate study in a nearby river. The students used the presence or absence of various invertebrate species to act as indicators for the quality of water in that area.
After dinner, the students had the opportunity to go on a night safari with the National Park rangers. They were lucky enough to see two wild elephants, something which happens very rarely!
The staff from Big Outdoors Thailand made everybody feel very welcome and were experts when the students had questions about the wildlife.
It’s been great so far and the students seem to be enjoying the experience.
