Year 11 Biology – Heart Dissection
July 6, 2018
This week at Assumption College English Program, Mr Ash’s grade 11 Biology students have been learning about the circulatory system. The class has been studying the internal structure of the heart, and how the blood moves through each chamber as it contracts and pumps. To add a practical dynamic to these lessons, the students brought pig hearts to the Biology lab and Mr Ash showed the class how to carefully dissect them. This allowed the students to see the internal structure of a real heart and compare with their knowledge from scientific diagrams.
