Year 11 Biology – Animal Behaviour
February 11, 2020
This week at Assumption College English Programme, the year 11 students began learning about animal behaviour in Biology class with Mr Ash. They were introduced to the topic of innate behaviour, and were able to conduct an experiment to determine how insect larvae behave to a stimulus and which type of innate behaviour they exhibited. To do this, the students made a “choice chamber”, which consists of two different sections – one illuminated by a lamp and one in darkness. The students put insect larvae into their choice chamber and observed their movement, relating this to the theory section of our class.
