Year 10 Design With Nature: Bi-fold Holiday Greeting Card Creation
December 24, 2019
In Design With Nature, Year 10 students learn about graphic design using the topic of, and inspiration, from, nature. To make holiday-themed greeting cards, students took photos of natural scenes exclusively on the ACEP campus, then used them to make a set of three greeting cards.
The greeting card template has four panels, arranged so that a sheet of regular A4 paper can be printed, folded and trimmed to make an attractive greeting card with printing on each side.
This assignment combines many skills, from photography, to media organization and curation, to font selection, to correct use of templates, to giving proper credit for creative assets. As a bonus, several students used fonts they had designed themselves in their other current course, Computer Graphics.
Students were very proud of their finished cards, which they were encouraged to give to friends and family over the holidays. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
