Monday, November 2, 2020
Last week at ACEP, Mr. Mahesh organized a “Speed Math Contest” with the moto of analyzing the accuracy and speed of students in solving math problems under pressure. It was organized for two levels – Year 7 to Year 9 and Year 10 students.
Once the mind of a student develops an understanding of tricks for speedy calculations, he/she begins to think systematically and more creatively. It will help them to Improve their confidence level, being able to complete exercises and tests faster than their peers. Students will derive enjoyment from being able to easily calculate without using calculators. It is very important to make students learn some of the easy calculation tricks and concepts to build a strong foundation in Mathematics.
A total of 22 students from year 10 and 15 students from year 7 to 9 registered for the contest. The contest was very successful and it has been decided to organize another contest in the coming semester.
