Special Year 1 Assembly on Hygiene
November 25, 2019
Flu season is in full swing and we want to make sure our students avoid getting ill. So Year 1 used our assembly this week to talk about hygiene and cleanliness in school.
We started by brainstorming ways we could keep ourselves healthy and the students came up with some great ideas about what we eat and what we do. We all agreed that the most important thing is to wash our hands regularly and properly.
The students were reminded of the step by step approach to washing their hands and how to make sure all areas of the hands and fingers are washed. The students got to practice their technique by singing along with a song. We also talked about the importance of covering our mouths when we sneeze or cough, and how it is best to use our elbows.
As usual, we also did our class shields and merit awards – well done to all our winners!
