Test period two has seen the Year Twos taking an in depth look at rocks. Over the course of this unit students have explored various aspects of rocks including how to classify them according to their descriptive features, where to find rocks, identifying types of rocks and finally, examining how we can use rocks.
We have also conducted a few experiments to further investigate how rocks break down through weathering, as well as examining which type of broken-down rock can hold the most water. The students have enjoyed using their scientific skills while carrying out these experiments and we are looking forward to some more hands on learning activities in our future units.
