People at the Margins the Main Focus for Year 12
December 6, 2018
This week at Assumption College English Program, year 12 students have been completing their final project. As part of a unit of inquiry into society and culture, students were tasked with creating a project under the theme ‘Marginalised groups’.
They were given the freedom to develop a text such as a presentation, essay, short film, animation and so on, which would increase understanding and allowed them to demonstrate a degree of criticality on some of the central issues facing certain marginalised members of society. As usual, the student responses were highly imaginative and strongly suggested students had a firm grasp of the issues they had investigated. The featured video is the result of the hard work of a group of students in 12/1 who employed a range of modalities to explore complex themes around gender.
