Our first week in Year 1
May 18, 2018
This week was a very important one for our Year 1 student here at ACEP.
There is a big difference between Summer School and Term 1. Our students have longer days, study more subjects, wear their new uniforms and use a lot of new workbooks and textbooks. This is a lot of responsibility for such young students but they have adapted fantastically.
In English, students have been learning how to introduce themselves and give basic information information about themselves. We can already see them becoming more confident when speaking English! We have also learned about the letters S and A in Jolly Phonics.
In Maths we started our work on Numbers to 10, focusing on counting skills and number formation. Finally, in Science, the students have started learning about their body parts.
The Year 1 teachers are all delighted with how the students have started and we are excited for the year ahead. We would also like to thank the parents for all their hard work in organizing books, notebooks and stationary… it is much appreciated!
