Mindfulness in Year Three
July 10, 2019
Mindfulness has been an integral part of the year three curriculum for the past few years. The introduction of the practice is somewhat of a new approach in the Educational realm, but the research is undeniable. The Association for Mindfulness in Education suggests that a consistent and meaningful practice can increase attention, memory, planning, organization and impulse control. It can also function as a self-calming and emotional regulator, along with promoting social skills such as empathy, gratitude and care for others.
Throughout the day, year three students have various opportunities to participate in mindful activities. Students have reported that they feel better and have improved focus in lessons proceeding mindfulness practices.
Ask us about it, or even better, come and join us!
