Cambridge Young Learners Examinations
Friday, February 9, 2018
On Thursday 8th February Primary students from Year 2, Year 4 and Year 5 were involved in the Cambridge Young Learner exams at Assumption College English Program.
This is the fifth year in which ACEP students have sat the tests and once again 2018 had a large amount of enrolments with 132, which is up from the 117 students who sat the Starters, Movers or Flyers tests last year.
The tests were organised by the Bell Language Centre and were administered in collaboration with Cambridge English Language Assessment.
This round of Cambridge Young Learners Examinations were solely conducted by newly qualified Cambridge Speaking examiners, Christopher Warren, Anselm Dorman and Lillian Reid of the Bell Language Centre, aided by both Bell teachers, Ms. Ratha and the Thai staff.
The results should be available by the start of the 2018 to 2019 academic year and early signs suggest that the students have performed even better than they have done in previous years.
We would like to thank the teachers and parents who helped prepare the students for today’s exams and it is important to also mention that the students not only performed well in the tests, but also were confident, well-mannered and very well-behaved.
It has been really pleasing to see the students who first took the Starters test back in 2016 taking the Movers again two years later and how much progress they have made in such a short space of time. This bodes very well for the future and is a pattern we hope will be repeated throughout their time at ACEP.
