Another Successful Life Skills Activity at ACEP!

Tuesday, April 3, 2018
Following on from last week’s Life Skills activity, students from Years 5 to 11 were engaged in activities to develop their Life Skills. Firstly, the Year 5, 6 and 7 students played an exciting game of Capture the Flag. The students were divided into two teams and had to try to capture the flag of the opposing team. Teamwork, communication skills, physical fitness and a sense of competition are required in this activity. The students quickly got into the action, in this fast and exciting game. Thereafter, the Year 5, 6 and 7 students went into the gym to do some cardio and strength training exercises. They all enjoyed achieving personal goals in the gym.
Meanwhile, there was a buzz of activity in the kitchen at the St. Peter Sport Club. Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students were cooking meals from various countries. Quesadillas, Lamb Kofta, Cottage Pie, Jambalaya and Vetkoek were being prepared by eager young “chefs”, while their enthusiastic teachers monitored the students during the preparation, handling and cooking processes. The students learnt valuable skills such as hygiene, food safety, preparation and cooking techniques. Valuable skills for life! This is another successful Life Skills activity for our students.
