Another Exciting English Camp at ACEP!
Monday, April 8, 2019
On Friday 5th April, our Secondary students participated in a 1-day English Camp. The camp, which was divided into morning and afternoon sessions, included games, sport and science, STEM activities and also cooking!
The camp started in the morning with a short assembly during which the students were given information about the camp and were divided into groups. Then, each group visited each of the four activity stations. The stations included:
Scavenger Hunt – the students had to search for clues and objects as fast as possible. The clues and objects were scattered around the campus so it was not an easy job.
Crime Scene Analysis – here, the students were asked to determine who the suspect in a murder case was by analyzing ‘blood’ samples.
Water Balloon Drop – the students were to design a device that could safely lower water balloons to the ground.
Sport Contests and Games – here, the students participated in various sporting activities and contests at our ACEP Fitness Centre.
In the afternoon, all the students went to the canteen at the St. Peter’s Sport Club where they participated in a “Ready Steady Cook” activity. During the activity, the students were given 90 minutes to prepare a dish with ingredients given to them. None of the students knew beforehand what ingredients their group would be given, so they had to show some creativity. The students did a wonderful job and prepared some very delicious food.
The camp was a great success, and the students had a lot of fun while learning something new.
