2019 ACEP Activity Day and Songkran Celebrations at ACEP!
Thursday, April 11, 2019
Thursday, April 11 was a very exciting day at Assumption College English Program (ACEP). In the morning, Brothers, students, teachers and parents came together in the courtyard of the Ave Maria Building for an Activity Day to mark the end of the 2019 ACEP Summer School.
Activity Day is an ACEP tradition designed to showcase the activities, team building, and learning experiences that are held during Summer School. The event was full of wonderful performances that showcased exceptional talents of our students. The performances included songs, dances, skits, and musical performances. There was also Mister and Miss Songrkan Pageant Contests which saw our primary students dressed up in traditional Thai clothes and answer questions.
2019 ACEP Summer School Activity Day couldn’t have been such a great success without the support of the Brothers and hard work of the teachers, administrators, and parents. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed in the performances is a preview of another great year at ACEP.
In the afternoon community attended a ceremony for the upcoming Songkran festival, which will be celebrated in Thailand from the 13th to the 15th of April.
The ceremony included traditional rituals and performances. As a sign of respect, the students poured rose-scented water over the hands of the Brothers and their teachers.
After traditional celebrations, a modern-day water fight took place on the centre courtyard between the Ave Maria and Regina Coeli Buildings. Students, teachers and even the ACEP Brothers all participated in this fun activity!
We would like to wish all ACEP families a safe and enjoyable Songkran Festival next week and fun and safe holidays.
We are looking forward to the start of the 2019 Academic Year on Wednesday, May 15.
